Bella Air Fryer Review- Healthy Deep Fry

Bella Air Fryer

I have been wanting to try an Air Fryer for a while now. So, this past Christmas I put it on my wish list. Awesomely, my brother-in-law got one for us as a gift. We have only had it for a couple weeks, but we have used it a bunch of times already! This thing is a game changer! Since I love it so much, I thought I would go ahead and present to you my Bella Air Fryer Review.

We all love deep fried food, well, at least here in the US we do. I assume a lot of other countries enjoy deep frying too, maybe not as much as we do, but still…even though donuts are not my favorite, I think Homer Simpson sums up the feeling pretty well.

I have always fought off the urge to buy a deep fryer for my kitchen, because well, that is just a bad idea. We already don’t keep the healthiest diet, and who needs to add a vat of oil to the mix? Plus, buying a gallon of oil every time you want to fry something could get quite pricey. And you have to deal with disposing of it afterward. Sounds like a hassle, and not to mention, a heart attack waiting to happen.

So, when I started to see these Air Fryers popping up in stores all over the place I thought that could be the solution to my “never-gonna-happen” longing for a home deep fryer! And, boy was I right!

What a Deal!

It isn’t normal for me to look up the price of gifts I receive, but since I wanted to do a post about this wonder machine, I had to do it. There are several brands of air fryers out there. Most of them seem to fall in the $70-$100 range. This here Bella Air Fryer comes in below the average in $50-$60 range (as of January 2019), which is awesome, because it works great! Apparently, my bro-in-law is a bargain shopper like I am.

I have seen it listed as 2.5 Liter and 2.6 Quart, but they are same thing mathematically, just in case that worried you.

Healthy Deep Frying Option

There are still tons of recipes I can’t wait to try in my new Air Fryer, and I will post them as I do. So, far we have mostly used it for throwing everything in our freezer into it. We have done crinkle cut fries, pizza rolls, chicken strips, curly fries, and some other stuff I know I am forgetting.

Frozen Foods

It works really well for frozen french fries. They come out perfectly, and way better than they do in the oven. Nice and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The best thing about it though is that it cooks everything evenly on every side. In the oven we typically end up with maybe one crunchy side, possibly one burnt side, and they are all different. With the air fryer, every last piece is cooked exactly the same…perfectly!Air Fried French Fries

The only other way I have ever seen this done is with a deep fryer. That works because every piece is evenly surrounded with the same temperature of oil, but with this little puppy every side is evenly cooked with the same temperature of air! It is really quite amazing.

Breaded Chicken

My favorite thing we have cooked in it so far is Chicken Cordon Bleu. A local meat market here wraps up ham and swiss in a chicken breasts and coats it with breading. It comes raw and you cook it at home. I have been buying them there for many, many years. I have always cooked them in the oven, and it is really tasty, but apparently I didn’t know what I was missing!

In the Bella Air Fryer it came out freakin’ awesome! A delicious crispy fried coating around the outside like I had never had before. Still cooked through and moist on the inside. Soooo delicious! I cannot wait to cook another one.

I also did hand cut breakfast potatoes, but the came out tasting a little more like french fries than I was trying for, so I am still working on that recipe. I will let you know when I perfect it.

Still to Come

My next adventure will be Chicken Schnitzel, or Chicken Parmesan. I can’t wait to try it. I already know it is going to be great based on what I have seen so far. And I am so excited to make them without having to deal with all the oil. It is such a mess, and of course, way more fattening. I will be doing a post on how they turn out very soon.

Also on my list is some spicy jalapeno poppers and mozzarella cheese sticks. So, keep checking back for new air fryer recipes coming soon.

The Bella Air Fryer is Easy to Use

Another thing I really love about the air fryer is how easy it is to use and clean. You literally just put the food in the basket, pick a temperature on the dial, and turn on the timer. That’s it. Then just walk away. About half way through it recommends shaking the basket a little if you have a bunch of something in there. But that is super simple too.

Clean up is way easy. If you are just making frozen food, you practically just wipe off any crumbs with a paper towel. When I did the Chicken Cordon Bleu it definitely needed a wash, but it was really easy. Just took out the basket and washed it. It is all non-stick so it cleaned up in a second. It is also dishwasher safe.

I really have nothing negative to say about the Bella Air Fryer. One heads up I can give is that the basket comes right out when you are ready to clean it. For a second I thought I had to unscrew something, which was upsetting, but ends up you just push the release button on the handle and it pops right out! It is really terrific all around. I highly recommended it as a gift or for yourself. You will love it!

What else can I say? The Bella Air Fryer is really great! I can’t believe it took me so long to get one. It is easy and fun to use. I can’t wait to try cooking everything in there!
